About Pridyider Ng Sining
Pridyider is an old Filipino slang for 'refrigerator'. It is known for its capacity to store food, beverages, and even coals for a variety of purposes. One would open it in search of something to eat or drink, something to feed their hungry tummies and weak souls. One would open it to feel the cool ambiance in a quick snap. One would open it even without answering the questions 'why open?' and 'what to get?'. Pridyider is flavored to tempt people, to entice them of curiosity and surprise, to help them find their true needs and wants, sometimes to hurt and disappoint them by making them see an empty space.
Sining is the Filipino translation for art. It can be found everywhere, any place that your eyes, heart, mind, and soul could reach. It is broad, boundless, and extends beyond horizons. Sining is expressed in a lot of media from pen, paintbrush, ballet, paper, gestures, greed, colors, textures, teatro, realities, sky, song, animals, ripples, to sleepwalks. It covers a wide span of material and intangible ideas. Even a simple crooked line of ellipses sounding surreal could be categorized under Sining. A pinch of emotion connecting it to the doer or anyone who had seen or felt it makes it a Sining.
